Wesam Alsous: the Mission Is Difficult But Not Impossible

Wesam Alsous is the playmaker for the national team and for Riyadi club, and is one of the National team’s stars who is a key player and coach rely on him in the gaming industry and the construction of the attacks, and beside that this player has a distinct individual skills in the correction of high duties and the performance of defensive and offensive, a flame of activity and vitality and is often make a clear gravity of the other team’s basket considering him as the key to the game and the source of attacks

Alsous is currently preparing to participate with the team in the Asia Championship in China next month to qualify for the World Cup, and has contributed his efforts with the national team to achieve many honors and achievements, the common aspiration collections with his colleagues in the national team is qualifying for the World Championship

In this context, he is confirming by his talking to Alrai that the task of qualifying for the World Cup will undoubtedly be difficult but not impossible thanks to the evolution of the game in the last few years through which made many achievements

The beginning of the road

Wesam began his basketball career in school, and his talents showed while his age did not exceed 15 years, when he register in the Jazeera Basketball sheets in 97, and included in the age groups and soon joined the first team of Jazeera at the age of 17 years, then joined the ranks of sports ARAMEX Games where he distinct became the star-makers who drew the attention of national coach of the youth which he joined at the 18-year-old, and rapidly became one of the pillars of the team first

Achievements and titles

Wesam Alsous contributed to the achievement of many tournaments and titles for Jazeera Club in age groups 14, 16, 18 and 20, and led Riyadi to win Jordan Cup in 2001, and participated in several international tournaments, both with his club or national team with which he achieved in 2006 in fourth place in the Doha Asian Games and the Champions Cup and the William Jones in Taiwan 2007 and 2008 twice, and the title of King Abdullah the Second International in 2007, the year in which the national team shine when they won the title of Arab Cup held in Alexandria, then second place at the Arab Championship in Egypt, and the second place in the Arabs Cup in Tunisia in 2008. He also played with Zain in Kuwait in the Asian Club Championship in 2008 and Indonesia in 2009 and the Arab Clubs Championship in Lebanon in late April

The role of coaches in the process of Alsous

Wesam Alsous is grateful to all the coaches who led his trainings until he reached a sophisticated level, he has not forgotten the efforts of coach Marwan Matooq who was the first coach, who oversaw the training when he was emerging in the ranks of Jazeera in addition to d. Ali al-Khatib, Sameer Morcos and Amer Taleb with Riyadi and Maz and Mario Palma currently with the national Team

Union's support in the development of the game

Alsos says: We have seen Jordan basketball that has evolved significantly in the past few years thanks to the plan adopted by the Union in the preparation of the national team and its attachment to the camps and provide better opportunities for the players, the friction which made the Jordan basketball at the forefront of the other Arabic Teams, which is now calculated many account for our team in addition to his achievements in Arab and international tournaments and the like a continental William Jones and the elite tournament in Kuwait, and China's international

Professional step is in the right direction

The Alsos confirm that the professional play had a major role in the evolution of the game through the clubs making contracts with the professional, and it is a step in the right direction, but the professional player must have high skills and his level is not less than the level of the local player, and it shouldn’t be limited to professional players only, but must be applicable for the administration and coaches

الصوص يتأهب حاليا للمشاركة مع المنتخب في بطولة اسيا بالصين الشهر المقبل والمؤهلة الى كأس العالم، وقد ساهم بجهوده مع المنتخب الوطني في تحقيق العديد من الالقاب والانجازات، طموح مشترك يجمعه مع زملائه في المنتخب الوطني وهو التأهل الى بطولة العالم

وهو في هذا السياق يؤكد خلال حديثه لـ ألرأي بأن مهمة التأهل الى كأس العالم ستكون بلا شك صعبة ولكن ليست مستحيلة بفضل التطور الذي شهدته اللعبة في السنوات القليلة الماضية والتي حققت خلالها العديد من الانجازات

بداية المشوار

بدأ وسام الصوص مشواره بكرة السلة بالمدرسة، وظهرت مواهبه وعمره لم يتجاوز 15 عاما حيث سجل في كشوفات سلة الجزيرة سابقا عام 97، وتدرج في الفئات العمرية وسرعان ما التحق بالفريق الاول للجزيرة وكان عمره انذاك 17 عاما، ثم انضم الى صفوف الرياضي ارامكس محطته الاخيرة وبرز نجمه كصانع العاب متميز لفت اليه انظار مدرب المنتخب الوطني للشباب الذي انضم اليه وعمره 18 عاما ، وما لبث ان اصبح احد اعمدة المنتخب الاول

انجازات والقاب

ساهم وسام الصوص في تحقيق العديد من البطولات والالقاب لناديه الجزيرة سابقا في بطولات الفئات العمرية ت 14 و16 و18 و20 ، وقاد الرياضي للفوز بكأس الاردن عام 2001، وشارك في عدة بطولات دولية سواء مع ناديه او مع المنتخب الوطني الذي حقق معه عام 2006 المركز الرابع في اسياد الدوحة، وكأس بطولة وليم جونز في تايوان مرتين 2007 و 2008، ولقب بطولة الملك عبدالله الثاني الدولية عام 2007، وهو العام الذي تألق فيه المنتخب الوطني وحصل على لقب كأس العرب التي جرت بالاسكندرية ثم وصيف بطل الدورة الرياضية العربية التي استضافتها مصر، وثاني كأس العرب بتونس عام 2008. كما لعب مع زين في بطولة الاندية الاسيوية بالكويت عام 2008 وبأندونيسيا عام 2009 وبطولة الاندية العربية بلبنان في اواخر نيسان الماضي

دور المدربين في مسيرة الصوص

يدين وسام الصوص بالفضل الى جميع المدربين الذين تعاقبوا على تدريبه حتى وصل الى هذا المستوى المتطور، فهو لم ينس جهود المدرب مروان معتوق الذي كان اول المدربين الذي اشرف على تدريبه عندما كان ناشئا في صفوف الجزيرة اضافة الى د. علي الخطيب، وسمير مرقص وعامر طالب مع الرياضي وماز تراخ وماريو بالما حاليا مع المنتحب الوطني

دعم الاتحاد في تطور اللعبة

يقول الصوص: لقد شهدت كرة السلة الاردنية تطورا كبيرا في السنوات القليلة الماضية بفضل الخطة التي يعتمدها الاتحاد في اعداد المنتخب الوطني وحرصه على توفير المعسكرات وافضل فرص الاحتكاك للاعبين والذي وضع كرة السلة الاردنية في طليعة المنتخبات العربية التي باتت تحسب لمنتخبنا الف حساب اضافة الى انجازاته في البطولات العربية والدولية والقارية كبطولة وليم جونز وبطولة النخبة بالكويت ، وبطولة الصين الدولية ، ولعل ما نشهده اليوم من استعدادات مكثفة للمشاركة في بطولة اسيا التي ستقام بالصين خير دليل على ذلك ، فالخطة التي وضعها الاتحاد تعتبر نموذجية ، وهذا يتطلب منا كلاعبين بذل اقصى جهودنا للتأهل اى كأس العالم التي تستضيفا تركيا العام المقبل . ويضيف: ندرك ان مهمتنا في بطولة اسيا لن تكون سهلة ولكن حجز احدى بطاقات التأهل ليس مستحيلا بعزيمة اللاعبين واصرارهم وعطائهم ، والحمدلله المعنويات عالية وطموحنا كبير وكل ما يحتاجه المنتخب هو الدعم والمؤازرة الجماهرية ونأمل ان نكون عند حسن ظن جماهيرنا ونحن متفائلون على الدوام

الاحتراف خطوة في الطريق الصحيح

ويؤكد الصوص بأن نظام الاحتراف لعب دورا كبيرا في تطور اللعبة عن طريق تعاقد الاندية مع المحترفين وهي خطوة في الاتجاه الصحيح ولكن يجب ان يتمتع اللاعب المحترف بمهارات عالية وان لا يقل مستواه عن مستوى اللاعب المحلي ، وان لا يقتصر الاحتراف على اللاعبين فقط بل لا بد من تطبيق الاحتراف الشامل الذي ينسحب على الاداريين والمدربين
