استدرك زين الأمر سريعا وهو الذي بدأ بالخماسي .. سام دغلس، راشيم رايت، آدم زان، اونتيريو لت ورودريك رايلي، فسجل آدم وطالت يد رايلي السلة قبل ان يغمس بقوة ونسج سام على نفس المنوال ليسود التعادل 8/8، ووضع راشيم زين في المقدمة للمرة الأولى ثم تبادل القصف الثلاثي مع نيت جونسون، واحتاج فادي الخطيب سبع دقائق قبل ظهوره في المشهد، بعد ان خضع لرقابة آدم الذي خاض اللقاء وهو يعاني من وعكة صحية
أبقى المدرب البرتغالي ماريو بالما على محترف واحد هو اونتيريو ودفع بموسى العوضي ووسام الصوص وزيد الخص الذي اصطاد السلة من مسافة شاسعة، لكن جونسون أنهى الربع الأول لصالح الرياضي 21/18

واصل الفريقان اللذان لعبا بدفاع رجل لرجل الضاغط معظم الوقت أدائهما الصاخب، فسجل علي محمود للرياضي من خارج القوس، وابقى رايلي دفة القيادة في يد زين، وقفز العوضي وراشيم بالفارق الى ست نقاط 49/43، قبل أن يتعادل الرياضي بثلاثيتي محمود وجونسون، ثم ليتقدم بعد ذلك بثلاثية اخرى من المخضرم جو فوجل، واستخدم المتألق موسى العوضي نفس السلاح من أجل فرض التعادل مجددا 56/56 وتبادل رايلي والخطيب التسجيل وغمس سام بطريقة رائعة، وضمن رايلي بقاء زين في المقدمة مع انتهاء الربع الثالث 62/61
أصبح التفوق لبنانيا 76/64 بفضل نقاط محمود وجونسون وثلاثيتي اسماعيل، لكن زين رفض الاستسلام رغم التشجيع الجماهيري الهادر، فسجل انفر شوابسوقة وسام من خارج القوس وأخذ الأخيرعلى عاتقه تذليل الفارق، الا أن الفوز كان في نهاية المطاف لصالح الخطيب وجونسون ورفاقهما بفارق أربع نقاط 88/84
وكان نيت جونسون محترف الرياضي هدافا للمباراة برصيد 27 نقطة، بينما كان سام دغلس أبرز مسجل لزين برصيد 22 نقطة

باغت التطبيقية منافسه صاحب الأرض والجمهور وفرض أفضليته مستفيدا من التسديد البعيد والمتوسط لتيم بيكيت وتشيدنيك جراي، واحتاج الحكمة لنحو سبع دقائق قبل الدخول في أجواء اللقاء، ليمسك بزمام المبادرة وينهي الربع الأول لصالحه 28/20 والثاني 46/36 ،بعد نجاح متكرر لمحترفيه ماركوس مالفن ونورمان نولان اضافة الى برايان بشاره وباسم بلعا في التسجيل من تحت السلة ودقة التصويب الثلاثي لروني فهد ورودريك عقل مع وجود ردود مماثلة على فترات للتطبيقية عبر بيكيت وزيد عباس، وبروز اسلام عباس وعبدالله ابو قورة - البديل الناجح لآدم بارادا - في احراز النقاط من تحت السلة
رد جراي على ثلاثية مالفن قبل أن يسجل مرارا ومن مواقف مختلفة مع متابعات مميزة لاسلام عباس وبارادا تحت السلة، ليتعادل الفريقان 56/56 ورغم القصف الثلاثي لمالفن وقبله من جو غطاس، الا أن بارادا استطاع وضع التطبيقية في المقدمة 60/59 ، وغمس زيد باسلوبه المعتاد وسجل شقيقه اسلام من تحت السلة، لينتهي الربع الثالث بتقدم التطبيقية 64/59
لجأ الفريقان لانتهاج دفاع رجل لرجل الضاغط، وظل التطبيقية ممسكا بدفة القيادة رغم ثلاثيتي مالفن وبشاره، وذلك بفضل نقاط بيكيت وزيد وجراي الذي ارتكب خطأ فنيا دون مبرر كلف فريقه خمس نقاط، فتقدم الحكمة 74/70، الا ان زيد وبيكيت استأنفا التسجيل ليعود التعادل 77/77 ، ثم ليتقدم التطبيقية 83/80 لكنه أخفق في منع وصول الكرة لروني فهد الذي أحرز الثلاثية الثمن مع بقاء سبع ثوان على النهاية، ليتم اللجوء لوقت اضافي كانت الأفضلية في بدايته للحكمة بعدما سجل أورلاندو ومالفن وبشارة من خارج وداخل القوس، لكن بيكيت وجراي استطاعا ابقاء فريقهما في المنافسة، وخرج اسلام عباس لحصوله على خمسة أخطاء شخصية، وسجل زيد الثلاثية الأخيرة في اللقاء، لكن الوقت المتبقي لم يكن كافيا للتدارك، ليفوز الحكمة بفارق سلة واحدة 95/93، وليكسب التطبيقية الاحترام والتقدير
