Optimistic of qualifying to the World Cup

Abbas said that the achievement of reaching the World Cup is already a large dream which every player wish to achieve, and even if it is a difficult task,but the achievement of this goal is not impossible, thanks to the team's preparations and achievements of the Arab and international and continental, which increased the confidence of the players and optimism,so the participation of the National Team is no longer for participation only, but to achieve more of achievement and this is what we aspire to in our next mission

The beginning of the road

Islam Abbas began his career as a player in the Eibal club in Nablus in 1996 and emerged as its star in Saddam International Championship before joining Wehdat, where he played one season 2001 / 2002 and then moved to the Arena Club (2003 - 2006) to settle in ASU club which he joined since 2006 and contributed in his rising to the ranks of Premier League Basketball League 2008

Achievements and titles

Abbas has contributed to the achievement of many of the achievements, both with the national team or club that has played throughout his career, he won second place with the Arena in the West Asian Championship in Iran, and Jordan's Cup runner twice and finished third in the league for four years, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and the recent achievement was with ASU club winning bronze in Arab championship which was held in Lebanon last April, and won with Fastlink (now Zain) the Asian Club Championship title of 2006 in Kuwait

With the national team he won the Arab Cup held in Alexandria in 2007, and second in Arabic Championship in Egypt the same year, the fourth in Asian Games Doha 2006, and the second in Arab Championship in Tunis 2007, and the title of King Abdullah II, 2007, and William Jones title twice, in addition to that, Abbas received many titles as he has won the award as the best Arabic player in 2008 in a referendum for public sport forever

Islam Abbas emphasizes that Jordan Basketball has proved an effective presence in the Arab and international tournaments and continental development, thanks to the great Development in the game and I do not think there's a such achievements, thanks to the Union, which brought to the game a coach with a high level of competence and expertise in addition to providing the best opportunities for friction and the camps and the intensification of international partnerships, which played a role in the high technical level for the national team, and there's no doubt that the system contributed to the development of professional game players to be offloaded

الوصول الى كأس العالم حلم يراود كل الرياضيين وفي مقدمتهم عمالقة المنتخب الوطني لكرة السلة الذين يتأهبون للمشاركة في بطولة اسيا لكرة السلة التي ستقام بالصين في اب المقبل ، وهي المحطة التي تؤهلهم الى بلوغ نهائيات كأس العالم التي تستضيفها تركيا العام القادم

متفائلون بالتاهل الى كأس العالم

يقول عباس ان بلوغ كاس العالم هو فعلا حلم كبير يتمنى تحقيقه كل لاعب ، واذا كانت المهمة صعبة فإن تحقيق هذا الهدف ليس مستحيلا بفضل استعدادات المنتخب والانجازات التي حققها عربيا ودوليا وقاريا ، الامر الذي زاد من ثقة اللاعبين وتفاؤلهم ، فلم تعد المشاركة لمنتخب كرة السلة من اجل المشاركة بل لتحقيق المزيد من الانجازات وهذا ما نطمح اليه في مهمتنا القادمة

بداية المشوار

بدأ اسلام عباس مشواره لاعبا في نادي عيبال / نابلس عام 1996وبرز نجمه في بطولة صدام الدولية قبل ان ينتقل للوحدات الذي لعب له موسم 2001 / 2002 ثم انتقل الى نادي الارينا ( 2003 - 2006 ) ليستقر حاليا في نادي العلوم التطبيقية الذي انضم اليه منذ عام 2006 وساهم بصعوده الى مصاف اندية الدوري الدوري الممتاز 2008

انجازات والقاب

ساهم عباس في تحقيق العديد من الانجازات سواء مع المنتخب الوطني او الاندية التي لعب لها طوال مسيرته الرياضية ، فحقق مع الارينا المركز الثاني في بطولة غرب اسيا بايران ، ووصيف بطل كأس الاردن مرتين والمركز الثالث في الدوري المحلي لاربع سنوات ، 2003 ، 2004 ،2005 ،2006 ، وكان احدث انجاز حققه مع ناديه التطبيقية الفوز ببرونزية بطولة الاندية العربية التي اقيمت بلبنان في نيسان الماضي ، وأحرز مع فاست لينك ( زين حاليا ) لقب بطولة اندية اسيا2006 بالكويت

ومع المنتخب الوطني الفوز بلقب كأس العرب التي اقيمت بالاسكندرية عام 2007 ، وثاني الدورة العربية بمصر بنفس العام ، ورابع اسياد الدوحة 2006 ، وثاني بطولة العرب تونس 2007 ، ولقب بطولة الملك عبدالله الثاني 2007 ، ولقب بطولة وليم جونزمرتين ، اضافة الى ذلك حصل عباس على العديد من الالقاب حيث نال جائزة افضل لاعب عربي عام 2008 في استفتاء جماهيري لموقع الرياضة الى الابد

الاحتراف نقلة نوعية

يؤكد اسلام عباس بأن كرة السلة الاردنية اثبتت حضورها الفاعل في البطولات العربية والدولية والقارية بفضل التطور الكبير الذي شهدته اللعبة ولا اعتقد ان هناك منتخب حقق مثل هذه الانجازات والفضل في ذلك يعود الى اتحاد اللعبة الذي استقدم مدرب على مستوى عال من الكفاءة والخبرة الفنية اضافة الى توفير افضل فرص الاحتكاك والمعسكرات وتكثيف المشاركات الدولية التي لعبت دورها في ارتفاع المستوى الفني للمنتخب الوطني ، ولا شك ان نظام الاحتراف ساهم في تطور اللعبة لتفرغ اللاعبين
