بهذه النتيجة احتفظ المنتخب الوطني بصدارة البطولة التي يحمل لقبها مرتين بعد ان فاز في مباراته الاولى على الفلبين 90 / 59 وعلى لبنان 73 / 63

وتأتي مشاركة المنتخب الوطني في هذه البطولة ضمن استعداداته للمشاركة في بطولة كأس اسيا الخامسة والعشرين التي تستضيفها الصين خلال الفترة من 6 / 16 الشهر المقبل والمؤهلة الى كأس العالم التي ستقام بتركيا عام 2010 حيث يسعى المنتخب الى حجز احدى البطاقات الثلاثة المؤهلة الى نهائيات كأس العالم
